[year] code not communicating

    Hi there!

    I’m trying to follow the instructions on this tutorial https://rankmath.com/kb/add-current-year-in-post-title/ and created a new rank-math.php file as recommended, but anytime I try and save the file with the code provided, it gives me an error message and won’t save, “Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.”

    I tried to add the file to my existing functions.php files as well, and the same error message is given.

    Do you know how to fix this error? If not, is there another way to make this current year update work or a way within the plugin itself without using code?

    Hello,

    Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

    This is simply a permission error from your website server. You would need to contact your hosting provider to help you with this.

    Alternatively, you can connect to your FTP server or your CPanel’s File manager where you can also locate the functions.php or rank-math.php file.
