WP freezes when trying to add a newpage/post.

This has been going on for awhile, finally had a chance today to debug. After disabling all code, switching back to the parent theme and deactivating and reactivating all plugins, it’s the RankMath plugin causing this issue.

I go to add a page, select one of the 3 divi options and the system freezes. Happens 100% of the the time. In the past I would just disable all plugins, add the page etc. FRUSTRATING!

Today I deactivated RM and deleted it from WP. Downloaded a new copy, same issue. Ideas?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

For initial troubleshooting, ensure that your Divi is also updated to its latest version.

Then, please check your site’s configuration if there are some PHP values that are too low and which you should increase. You can get in touch with your web host and ask them to set the following values (if not yet):

    PHP Memory Limit: 512M
    Max input time: 150
    PHP time limit: 120
    PHP max input variables: 1000

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

After my web hosting add made the changes you requested to my files, the errors still remain. Once again I have deactivated the RM plugin.

    Hello,

In this case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

Could you please also include the login URL for your website so we can investigate the issue?

Meanwhile, you can get in touch with your web host so they can assist you in setting up the FTP for your site. That will help us to check your website files and revert any changes made.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Pretty sure everything is set up. What do you need me to check in my FTP site? Not granting anyone access.

    Hello,

We need your FTP for various reasons, including to check and edit your plugin files, etc. And if something goes wrong we can always use the FTP to reverse any changes and restore your site. Without your FTP, we would not be able to do a lot of troubleshooting.

But we can still help take a look at your WordPress dashboard to check a few things, please add your website URL to the sensitive data section so we can log in to your website. You added your WordPress credential without adding your URL.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
