weird urls created everyday randomly using my domain

    Hello,
    For 6 months I notice 12000 urls have been created with the same pattern : https://mydomain-“random letters and figures”. I noticed that using Google Search Console. I wonder if it is a virus but doing the analysis with 2 different antivirus it doesnt seem like it. I thought maybe it is a bad setting of your plugin on my website. Everyday for 6 months it is between 5 to 30 urls that are created. The URLS all link to 404error. 4 days ago I noticed that and didn’t make any action I thought that would help but now the Search COnsole refers only 9000 of those 404 errors non index urls…
    Any idea ?

    Hello,

    Our plugin, even if it’s not set up correctly, won’t ever create dummy and unexistent URLs for any website.

    The only way to check if those are being created by some page on your website unwillingly is by passing those through the URL Inspection Tool and checking the referring page on them.

    If the referring page is from your website you can debug the issue from there, otherwise, if the referrer is an external website there’s nothing you can do to prevent this other than blocking those URLs in the robots.txt file, if they have a patter that can be easily recognized.
