    Hi
    Could u please help
I asked my host and they say its a plugin issue.

Google search console is saying they will not index this weird url as has redirect.

But i never created it! And i dont know how to even find it to delete it, or if it will cause issues if i do.
I dont want the url indexed. I never created it.

It seems to be 2urls for 2 categories merged into one and redirected to one of the categories.

My question is can u find it?
Are there implications to then delete it?
Are you then deleting one of my categories pages if you delete it?

I really wish you can resolve for me thanks
This is the url in question –
    https://newzealandsouthisland.com/category/plan-your-trip/https://newzealandsouthisland.com/category/things-to-do/

As you see its like 2 urls merged into one. And it does go to one of those category pages.

Its weird. How did it even happen?

  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re facing with the weird URL on your website. It seems like there might be a redirection problem causing this unexpected behavior.

To address this, we can follow these steps to identify and resolve the issue:

    1. Check .htaccess File for Redirects:

      • You can check if any redirects have been created in the .htaccess file using Rank Math. Navigate to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Edit .htaccess as shown below:

      Edit .htaccess

      • If you find any additional redirection rules, you can delete them to see if the issue is resolved.
    2. Implications of Deleting the Redirect:

      • Deleting the unwanted redirect should not cause any issues with your categories or pages. It will only remove the redirection from the weird URL to the category page.
    3. How to Proceed:

      • You can try removing the redirect following the steps above. If you encounter any difficulties or need further assistance, please feel free to reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will assist you promptly.

I hope this helps in resolving the issue with the weird URL on your website. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    Best regards,

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Please use the URL inspection tool of your GSC account to check the URL and view the referring page to make sure from where it is coming.

Once you know the referring page, you can unlink or remove it so Google won’t discover it.

Then, please clear your website’s cache, revalidate the issue in your Google Search Console account, and give Google some time to recrawl your site.

    validate

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
