    Greetings,

I have made a video of the problem that occurs when I try to put Scandinavian letters such as ÆØÅ in my URL. I use the encoding that should be correct, but it does not seem to work:

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Please note that WordPress itself doesn’t support these Scandinavian letters in the URL. You can even try to change the URL from the block editor URL settings and you’ll see it will not work. The URLs in any platform only support UTF-8 encoded characters and it is not recommended to use something else.

However, if it is so much necessary for you then you can use Permalink Manager plugin on your website to keep those letters on your URL. You can follow this URL on how you can do that: https://permalinkmanager.pro/docs/tutorials/special-characters-permalinks/#accented-letters

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.
