Hello,
We apologize for the inconvenience you are facing with the separators in the SEO data download. We understand the importance of having the correct separators to avoid any issues with the data.
To address this concern, you can manually edit the CSV file using a spreadsheet editor like Google Sheets. Once you have opened the CSV file in Google Sheets, you can use the Find and Replace feature to replace the incorrect separators with the correct ones.
Here are the steps to do this:
- Open the CSV file in Google Sheets.
- Select the column where you need to replace the separators.
- Go to Edit > Find and Replace.
- In the Find field, enter the incorrect separator.
- In the Replace with field, enter the correct separator.
- Click on Replace All.
After replacing the separators, you can save the file and then import it back to your website using Rank Math’s Import & Export feature.
If you encounter any further issues or need additional assistance, please feel free to let us know by replying to this ticket.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to resolve this matter for you.
Best regards.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to this issue.
The values in each cell are enclosed in quotation marks(” “) and then separated using commas from the next cell’s value. Cells containing multiple items like focus_keyword have individual focus keywords separated by a comma and they are all enclosed in quotation (” “). A new line represents a new row.
Can you share the CSV file with us so that we can see what might be wrong with it and also test it with our local installations?
You can use this tool to share the CSV file with us: https://wetransfer.com/
Looking forward to helping you.
Thanks.
Hi Ike,
I dont use wetransfer but I can post a link for you to access the file https://1drv.ms/u/s!AnPI_I1x2O8aj45NzRQ3DNV1fkMJKA?e=uvZSoRHello,
We’ve downloaded the zip file, and it contains 3 files.
Could you please confirm which one you’re importing so we can check?
Meanwhile, the file
moraleda RANK SEO transformed
seems the correct one as it does not contain any semi-colon.Looking forward to helping you.
It was that one
When I have downloaded the file it gives me a file that contains commatas as field separator and as data separator.
Opening it and correcting it and saving it under csv (UTF-8) give me semicolons as field separators and commas remain data sepators in fields.
I changed that from semicolons -> commas and from commas to semicolons
And it still wont import that file.
This is the error message
CSV-Import abgeschlossen. 0 Zeilen importiert. Beim Importieren sind ein oder mehrere Fehler aufgetreten:
Es fehlen eine oder mehrere erforderliche Spalten.Hello,
We can see you’re using semicolons (
;
) as a separator in the focus keyword when you should be using commas as the separator as CSV stands for Comma Separated Values. Please switch all the semicolons to the commas and the CSV should be imported successfully.
Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Still the same error – the messages says that there are coloums missing
CSV-Import abgeschlossen. 0 Zeilen importiert. Beim Importieren sind ein oder mehrere Fehler aufgetreten:
Es fehlen eine oder mehrere erforderliche Spalten.Hello,
Thank you for your patience.
Please share again the final file you’re importing so we can check properly if there are still errors.
Meanwhile, you may use Google Sheets to edit your metadata and download/export it as .CSV file without converting semicolons.
Here’s a guide you can follow as well:

O.k. it work with Google sheets and csv and commas – thanks
