Trouble Indexing Sitemap through Google Search Console

    I can’t get Google Search Console to index my site. Trying to set it up through the initial wizard didn’t work. What is the “sc-domain” before my domain mean?

    So, I tried to enter it manually. The normal link didn’t work, but I looked through your troubleshooting and tried just using “sitemap=1”. It accepted that, but it’s not discovering any pages.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    The sc-domain indicates that you are using a domain property in your Google Search Console. However, our plugin’s Analytics feature will work well if you have a URL Prefix property.

    Please make sure that you are not connecting to Google Search Console via a domain property but rather a URL prefix and that you have verified the correct version of your website on the Google Search Console (HTTP or HTTPS, www or non-www).

    The URL-prefix property also helps keep your sitemap in sync with Google Search Console as we submit it automatically for you. In addition, the domain property won’t work correctly on some sections of the Analytics module such as the IndexStatus.

    Hi, I reconnected my site as a URL-prefix but that didn’t solve the issue. It ended up being my permalink structure. For some reason I was using a custom structure that was inserting “index” into everything. Swapped over to “Post Name” and now it’s working. Thanks!
