There is a wrong URL in my sitemap. “/start” appends the english Homepage

I have a site that has its original version in german. International sites are setup via an “/en” directory. All other URLs in the sitemap work but one. The english homepage version is shown as [].de/en/start. But it should just be de./en

It is not a caching problem as suggested before by one of your colleagues. (https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/)

For initial troubleshooting, please install and activate the WPML SEO glue plugin that helps WPML and Rank Math integration (if not yet). You can check this article for how to do that:

If the issue still persists, please follow this guide to fix the incorrect homepage URL of your secondary languages in the sitemap:
