Hello,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re facing issues submitting your sitemap to Google Search Console. To troubleshoot this problem, please follow these steps:
-
Add the Correct Site URL to Google Search Console: Ensure you have added the correct site URL to Google Search Console and verified it. You can refer to this knowledgebase article for detailed instructions.
-
Add the Sitemap to Google Search Console: After verifying your site, navigate to Indexing → Sitemaps in the Search Console. Paste the correct sitemap URL in the Add a new sitemap field and click SUBMIT. Make sure there are no spaces in the sitemap URL.
-
Wait for Google to Fetch the Sitemap: If the sitemap still returns a “Couldn’t fetch” error, add a forward slash before the sitemap URL and click SUBMIT. If the error persists, it may be due to Google not fetching the sitemap yet. In this case, you’ll need to wait for Google to fetch it.
If you have followed these steps and are still facing issues, please feel free to reach out to our support team directly from here. We are here to assist you further.
Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention.

Hello,
That is normal as you should not inspect the sitemap URLs (/sitemap_index.xml or /sitemap.xml) as those are only used for crawling.
Please note that by default, sitemaps are set to noindex as the posts inside them are meant to be crawled and the sitemap itself should not be displayed on search results pages.

Hello,
Please share your sitemap URL so we can verify it as well.
You can add it to the sensitive data section
It is completely secure, and only our support staff has access to that section.
Meanwhile, please follow these steps to flush your sitemap cache:
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/3. Disable the transient cache for the sitemap by applying this filter. This will make sure that your XML sitemap always reflects the latest changes on your site:
/** * Filter if XML sitemap transient cache is enabled. * * @param boolean $unsigned Enable cache or not, defaults to true */ add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');
If you’re not sure how to add this code, you can follow this guide:
