Hello,
I apologize for the inconvenience you are facing with the Nofollow External Links option on your page. To enable the Nofollow External Links feature and manage the whitelist for external links you want to follow, please follow these steps:
-
Enable Nofollow External Links:
- Navigate to Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Links.
- Make sure you are in the Advanced mode of Rank Math.
- Enable the Nofollow External Links option.
-
Whitelist Links or Pages:
- Scroll down to find the NoFollow Domains option.
- Here, you can enter the external domains you want to add with the nofollow attribute.
- To whitelist domains you want to follow, use the NoFollow Exclude Domains option.
For a visual guide, you can refer to this knowledge base article on Rank Math General Settings.
If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Best regards.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and bringing your concern to our attention.
Please note that some options are only available in Advance Mode. If you are not able to find all the options in the Rank Math > General Settings > Links, please try to switch to Advance Mode: https://rankmath.com/kb/switch-from-easy-to-advanced-mode/
Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
I had the same issue. It is a good idea to add the information that the setting is only available in advanced mode in your documentation. It would make life a little easier for the customers and yourself. Thanks!
Hello,
We have documentation about the Advanced Mode and what modules and settings are available: https://rankmath.com/kb/advanced-mode/
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
Hi Miguel, thanks.
Sure that documentation is available. But if a user has simple mode activated and sees the nofollow notification, they look into your documentation and see what I saw: settings that do not seem to be there because you FIRST have to activate advanced mode. So my suggestion is to add a remark to all settings that are only availble in advanced mode, stating that you have to activate this in order to see the described settings.
Regards,
Elisabeth van der Zalm
