Switch from Yoast – How to remove category base

    Hi,

    I switched from Yoast to Rankmath recently, and I also did a complete restore of my website because of a unrelated problem. I’m not sure when this problem arised, I only noticed it now.

    I want the url to be http://www.sitename.com/category/subcategory/postname with no category base as it has always been. I had this set with Yoast I believe. But now the category base ‘category’ is suddenly there. If I set a dot as category base the base does get removed, but then the subcategory pages are redirected to a random post so no longer reachable. Could you help me fix this?

    Update: I used remove category URL plugin for now and that works. But I would like to resolve it without a plugin.

    Actually no. I couldn’t find it. But now that i have seen it in the video I found RankMath was on easy mode. Found the setting now and it works. Thanks!
