However we have run into
- big problems with social media sharing
when using RankMath. SEO Yoast inserts image metadata into the page source code, which is used for sharing posts on Facebook and Twitter. e.g.
<meta property=”og:image” content=”https://www.xxx.org/sites/xxx/files/xxx/greater-sage-grouse_xxx.jpg?itok=5i-mAQpO” />
<meta property=”fb:app_id” content=”xxx0911789807″ />
<meta name=”twitter:card” content=”summary_large_image” />
<meta name=”twitter:image” content=”https://www.xxx.org/sites/xxx/files/xxx/greater-sage-grouse_xxx.jpg?itok=5i-mAQpO” />
<meta name=”twitter:creator” content=”@Wildlife_xxx” />
<meta name=”twitter:site” content=”@Wildlife_xxx” />RankMath does not insert this social media image data into the page source code, and Facebook /Twitter have to search further down the page to find an image URL. Since the next image URL is usually a banner URL, social media sharing is not as it should be.
Extensive testing has shown that RankMath offers many advantages over SEO Yoast, and would be be delighted to change over our websites to RankMath if this one issue could be resolved.
Please advise if this would be possible.
