Hello, I apologize for the issue you are facing with Google indexing different content on your website https://rankmath.com/kb/discovered-currently-not-indexed/
There could be a few reasons why Google is not correctly indexing pages with the “index” tag, even after submitting the sitemap to the Google Search Console:
-
Content Duplication: Google penalizes websites with duplicate content as it can’t determine the original version. Check if there is any duplication on the pages you want to index. If you find any, you can add a canonical URL from these duplicate pages pointing to the original content you want to index.
-
Quality Checks: Google may decide not to index a page if it doesn’t pass quality checks. Ensure your website meets quality standards by improving the structure and overall quality. Internal linking structure is crucial; make sure important pages have relevant internal links. You can set important pages as pillar content and let Rank Math suggest relevant internal links.
If you have already submitted the correct sitemap, ensure it is accessible and not being cached. You can check if your sitemap is accessible using this tool. If the sitemap is being cached, exclude it from caching. Make sure you have submitted sitemap_index.xml
and that all inner sitemaps are showing up in your Google Search Console.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.
Thank you for raising this concern, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue for you.

Hello,
It seems the sitemap is working fine and the pages intended for indexing are listed there.
The service page is also already marked as index
in the robots meta as you can see from the screenshot below:

It is possible that Google didn’t see these changes until the 31st of March so you’ll have to give Google some time to index it on the SERP. You may also click the button “Request Indexing” to force Google to re-index the page.
Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Hi Jeremy
This is what I checked too… I requested an indenxing already two times, one time in february and then in march. No difference. That is why I am trying to find out what is happening… But this means I should reach out to google directly?
Best
Hello,
We checked the affected page and it is index-worthy so technically, Google should be able to index your page but Google chooses not to.
If you don’t see any issues in your GSC’s coverage section, then it’s advisable to reach out to Google directly for further assistance. They can provide insights into why certain pages aren’t being indexed as expected.
You may let us know how that goes. We will keep this ticket open for you.
Hello,
Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.
If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.
Thank you.
