    Hello Support Team!

I am struggling with the sitemap_index.xml on https://www.yoni-harmonie.fr/sitemap_index.xml
First issue I solved was a redirect of the URL sitemap to the homepage of my site (solved by disabling/enabling the redirection extension).

But now, my main sitemap is noindex :

I checked on redirect-checker.org and here is below the result:

    >>> https://www.yoni-harmonie.fr/sitemap_index.xml

    > ——————————————–
    > 200 OK
    > ——————————————–

    Status: 200 OK
    Code: 200
    Connection: close
    x-powered-by: PHP/7.4.33
    set-cookie: PHPSESSID=0a154401e4c642df3ac7bc435c4195ce; path=/; secure
    x-robots-tag: noindex
    content-type: text/xml; charset=UTF-8
    pragma: public
    cache-control: no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate, max-age=0
    expires: 0
    x-litespeed-cache-control: no-cache
    content-length: 677
    date: Fri, 19 May 2023 17:17:20 GMT
    server: LiteSpeed
    platform: hostinger
    content-security-policy: upgrade-insecure-requests
    alt-svc: h3=”:443″; ma=2592000, h3-29=”:443″; ma=2592000, h3-Q050=”:443″; ma=2592000, h3-Q046=”:443″; ma=2592000, h3-Q043=”:443″; ma=2592000, quic=”:443″; ma=2592000; v=”43,46″

I have red multiples resources on your website (flushing server caches, flushing permalinks, exclude sitemap URLs from Litespeed plugin but no luck so far.
I checked the URL with Test URL tool on Search Console and it is confirmed Google cannot access the sitemap.

Many thanks in advance for your support and answer.

    All the best

    Cyril

  • Hi there,

We appreciate you reaching out to Rank Math support.

We understand your concern about the sitemap being set as ‘noindex’, but we assure you that this is how it should be. The reason is that we don’t want Google to index the sitemap itself, we only want them to index the pages and posts that are listed on the sitemap. The sitemap is just a way to tell Google what pages and posts you have on your website, not a page that you want to show up in search results. This is true for any sitemap, even ours.

The important thing is that your pages and posts are set to ‘index’, which means that they are eligible to appear in Google search results. You can check this by looking at the Rank Math settings on each page or post, or by using the Google URL Inspection tool.

To make sure that Google knows about your sitemap and can crawl your pages and posts, you need to submit your sitemap to Google Search Console. This is a simple process that you can follow by using our tutorial: https://rankmath.com/kb/submit-sitemap-to-google/

We hope this clarifies your doubts. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. We’re always happy to help.
