    Can you please try to follow the steps below and see if that works for you?

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:

    3. If the above steps don’t seem to work, kindly apply the following filter to your site.

    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');
    

    Here’s how you can add filter/hook to your WordPress site:

    Once done, clear your website cache and resubmit the /sitemap_index.xml in the Search Console.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your help. The 1st suggestion fixed that for me.

    However, I see that there is still a ‘temporary processing error’ in the URL inspection.

    This only applies to new content that I have published in the last week.

    If the URL was already discovered through a different method, then it will show that in your Google Search Console. However, that is totally fine since sitemap is one of the methods Google uses to crawl URLs.

    Each time Google uses a sitemap to find a URL, the count of the Discovered URLs increases by one. When the count of the Discovered URLs is zero or does not match your actual sitemap, it means Google didn’t use the sitemap to find the URLs. It mostly happens when you have good internal linking or used the Instant Indexing plugin.
