Sitemap Indexing Problem

We have checked your sitemap index and we can confirm that it is working fine and that Googlebot can crawl it without any issues. Sometimes Google may show the “Couldn’t fetch” error when it is still processing a sitemap, so you don’t need to worry about it. It should resolve itself in a few days.

Alternatively, you can try removing your /sitemap_index.xml from Google Search Console and adding it back as /?sitemap=1.

Can you please share a screenshot of the error you are seeing on the Google Search Console? The image should show the specific error you’re experiencing i.e. click into your sitemap_index.xml and then click further into the individual sitemap to display the full error details. Here’s what the image should look like:

The screenshot is not showing any specific HTTP error, so this is likely because Google is still processing the sitemap. And since you submitted the sitemap yesterday, you might want to give it some time to fully crawl your sitemap.

We also tried testing your sitemap using a Google tool, and as you can see from the screenshot below, Google was able to access the post-sitemap correctly. So we suggest you give it a few days.

I just checked your sitemap again and I can see that your sitemap is working as it should.

In this case, I’m afraid you’d have to reach out to your host to let them know that Google is unable to reach your sitemap – they should be able to see your website logs to understand what the cause is. You could also reach out to Google here.
