Sitemap Image Issues

I am having an issue where I cannot get my site to index. The homepage is the only page that will index. I’m getting a message from Google saying there is a “noindex” tag. However, when I check Rank Math, all pages are set to index in every location.

I have dug further and found there are image issues on the home page (which is odd since that’s the only page that is indexed). I have downloaded the sitemap and the XML. There is no XML issues on the site, and the sitemap is still throwing odd errors for images.

I turned off image indexing because that’s where I was seeing the errors and have submitted that back to Search Console for the time being. However, I realize that is not an ultimate fix for this.

Please help me understand what needs to happen so that I can get this site to index.

  • Hello,

Thanks for contacting us, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Please head over to WordPress dashboard > Tools > Scheduled Actions > Pending.

or you can try visiting the following URL:

    https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/tools.php?page=action-scheduler&status=pending

Run the rank_math/analytics/data_fetch scheduled action and wait for the data fetch to complete.

This is how it should look like:

After that, please allow Rank Math a while to fetch data from Google Analytics and you should be able to see the updated data on Rank Math Analytics dashboard.

Let us know if the issue persists. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Verify the “noindex” tag: Ensure that there is no “noindex” tag present in the HTML code of your website’s pages. This tag instructs search engines not to index a specific page. Check the source code of your pages, including the meta tags and robots.txt file, to ensure that no “noindex” directive is preventing indexing.

Check your SEO plugin or CMS settings: If you’re using an SEO plugin or content management system (CMS), such as Rank Math or WordPress, review the settings to confirm that they are configured to allow indexing. Double-check the configuration and make sure that all pages are set to be indexed.

Validate your XML sitemap: Use tools like Google Search Console or other website auditing tools to validate your XML sitemap. Check for any errors or warnings that might indicate issues with the sitemap, such as missing or inaccessible URLs. Fix any errors or inconsistencies found.

Review robots.txt file: The robots.txt file on your website may contain instructions that restrict search engine crawlers from indexing certain pages or directories. Ensure that the robots.txt file is correctly configured and does not contain any instructions that could prevent indexing.

Check server and website accessibility: Make sure that your website and its pages are accessible to search engine crawlers. Ensure that there are no server-side issues or restrictions that prevent search engines from reaching and indexing your content.

Monitor Google Search Console: Regularly monitor the indexing status and any reported issues in Google Search Console. It can provide valuable insights into how Google perceives your website and identify any specific issues that need attention.
