Sitemap could not be read General HTTP error

    Hi

    I’ve noticed on Google Search Console that my sitemap is not being indexed properly.

    On the sitemaps page, I see: /sitemap_index.xml Status: Success

    When click on this, it says: Sitemap Index Processed Successfully

    Sitemaps read: /page-sitemap.xml Status: 1 error

    then message: Sitemap could not be read

    General HTTP error 1 instance

    HTTP Error: 404

    My wife gave this information on your FB page and was given the instruction to save Permalinks and save Sitemap in the Dashboard, and I have done this several times now and still getting the same error.

    Both the sitemaps are working fine.

    If you need a screencast for the same, please let us know.

    If you are seeing this in your Google Search Console:

    1. Please delete the sitemaps from the Google Search Console.
    ​
    ​2. Clear your website cache and add sitemap_index.xml and *-sitemap.xml to the exclusion list in your Cache plugin.
    ​
    ​3. Add sitemap_index.xml file again to your Google Search Console.
    ​
    ​That should do the trick.
    ​

    In 2. Where do I find website cache and where is the exclusion list to add sitemap_index.xml and *-sitemap.xml?

    I have checked your site and all sitemaps seem to be perfectly fine. You don’t seem to be using a caching plugin on site but you can check on your host to clear available cache.
