    Rank Math free

    Hi Rankmath,
one of our customers just switched from Yoast to Rankmath plugin.

Now the sitemap returns to a blank page and we’re not sure enough to fix this bug by just editing de source code. Can you please help us to fix this issue? So we can access the sitemap.xml and adjust the Robots.txt file.

    It’s for cafenoir.tv

  • Hello,

We apologize for the inconvenience you are facing with the sitemap and robots.txt file on cafenoir.tv after switching from Yoast to Rank Math.

To resolve the issue of the blank sitemap page, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check if there is a conflict with another plugin or theme using the Health Check plugin.
    2. If there is data in the source code but the sitemap still does not load, flush the sitemaps cache and exclude it from caching using the instructions provided here.
    3. If you have a static file with the same name as your sitemap file (sitemap_index.xml), remove the file via FTP.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to add custom code to your functions.php or rank-math.php file from the theme files. You can find instructions on how to add a filter/hook to your site in our dedicated knowledgebase article here.

For the robots.txt file, you can follow the instructions provided in our knowledge base article on how to fix common robots.txt issues to ensure that there are no unintended rules in the robots.txt file or any weird plugin conflicts.

If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact our support team. We are available 24×7, 365 days a year and will help you out as soon as possible.

Thank you for reaching out to us!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to this issue.

This issue is occurring because on your database entries, there are some Unicode characters that are preventing the sitemap from correctly loading.

Please access your WordPress database and check the table wp_options. You’ll notice entries like blogname with Unicode characters instead of the correct characters in there.

To be more specific, you may take a look if you find a similar entry like ç in the option_value column. Here is an example below for your reference:

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
