Site won’t connect to Google Analytics

I’ve followed your instructions (several times) to try to get connected to Google Analytics with no success.

Analytics is turned on in the Dashboard. If I go to General Settings->Analytics, it doesn’t show the “Test Connections” target. In the “Search Console” area, it does show the web address in the dropdown menu but I can’t select the “Enable the Site Index tab” target.

In the “Analytics” area, nothing is displayed in the “Analytics” dropdown box. This is I think the big problem.

I set this up yesterday and if I go to Google Search Console it doesn’t show and data yet, but I don’t think that should keep me from setting this stuff up.

Please let me know if you need additional information or cPanel access. I’ll include WordPress login information in the Sensitive Data section — feel free to take a look.

    Thank you!

  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues connecting your site to Google Analytics. It seems like you’ve encountered some difficulties with the setup process, and I understand how frustrating that can be.

Based on the information you’ve provided, it seems like there might be a glitch in the connection with Google Analytics. To troubleshoot this, I recommend testing the connection with your Google account. To do this, please follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Analytics in your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Click on the Test Connections option at the top right of the Analytics settings.

If you don’t see the “Test Connections” option, it’s possible that you are not in the Advanced Mode of Rank Math. You can switch to the Advanced Mode by following the instructions in this article.

Once you click the “Test Connections” option, Rank Math will validate the existing connections. A green signal indicates a valid connection, while a red signal indicates a glitch in the corresponding connection.

If you encounter any issues during this process or if the problem persists, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to assist you further.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue for you.

I picked “Test Connections” it came back with a red dot.

I then picked “Disconnect” and the connection went away, but for now I’m unable to try to set the connection up again.. It is registered under my client’s Gmail account, so he needs to help get me connected again, and he’s not available at the moment. I will try reconnecting again when I can (hopefully soon) and will respond to this ticket again with the results when I do.

    Thank you.

OK, I got back in and tried to connect. It doesn’t have anything in the dropdown boxes. Is this something I have to wait a while before it populates?

    Hello,

You will need to create a new property on Google Search Console and reconnect this website to Google by going to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math SEO > General Settings > Analytics.

The reason for this is that at the moment you only have one URL prefix property and it doesn’t fit the exact variation you have for your website.

The website is without the www prefix while the property you have has this prefix and this mismatch will cause issues with importing the data to the website.

When you have a URL prefix property on Google Search Console that matches the site variation you can add that and after selecting it you should press the save button at the end of the page to be able to enable the Index Status and see other settings.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
