Hello, I’ve noticed that there are multiple issues with my site not being indexed in Google Search Console. I’m getting an error message that is saying 183 URL’s are not indexed, and only 16 are indexed. When I go into Rank Math SEO dashboard, it’s also saying that there are only 10 pages and all of them aren’t indexed. I don’t know what’s going on and need to get this issue fixed asap.

  • Hello, we apologize for the issue you are facing with your site pages not being indexed by Google.

Based on the information you provided, it seems like your pages are showing the status “Discovered – Currently Not Indexed” in Google Search Console and Rank Math SEO dashboard. This status indicates that Google has found your website but hasn’t added it to its search index yet.

To address this issue, here are a few steps you can take:

    1. Check Your Robots.txt File: Ensure that your robots.txt file allows your website to be indexed. You can check for any disallow tags that may be blocking Google from crawling your site. If found, you can edit the robots.txt file using Rank Math at WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Edit robots.txt.

      Edit robots.txt in Rank Math

    2. Improve Internal Link Structure: Having a poor internal link structure can hinder Google from indexing your site. Internal links help Google understand the relationship between different pages on your website. You can set important pages as pillar content and let Rank Math suggest relevant internal links to improve your site’s structure.

      Pillar content

If after following these steps, the issue persists, please feel free to reach out to our support team directly here. We’re here to help you further troubleshoot and resolve this indexing issue. Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention.

This response didn’t help at all. Firstly, I’m not a developer or have huge technical knowledge, so I don’t know what where to look for “You can check for any disallow tags that may be blocking Google from crawling your site.” Secondly, there is nothing in the window here: WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Edit robots.txt.
Also, Rank Math SEO plugin itself is only showing that I’ve got 10 pages, when I have about 40 pages.

    Hello,

In this case, you should check your Google Search Console coverage section to determine any issues reported on your URLs that may have prevented your site from being indexed:

You can share the affected URL and the error message so we can verify them as well. If you want to share the image, you can upload screenshots using this tool and add the link here.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Hi Reinelle, I have checked the Google Search Console coverage section, hence why I can see that pages aren’t being indexed. The error message is “Excluded by ‘noindex’ tag. Despite having gone through the site, and Rank Math and ensured all pages and posts have an “index” checkbox ticked. When I got into the Index tab in Rank Math it only shows 10 pages – and all 10 pages are reported as “no index”. Also, I’m trying to update the Rank Math Pro Plugin and now I’m getting this error message: Update failed: The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

    Hello,

Please share some URLs affected by the Excluded by Noindex Tag issue.

To fix the issue with the plugin update, please navigate to WP Dashboard > Rank Math SEO > Dashboard > Help and disconnect & reconnect your Rank Math account.

    Looking forward to helping you.
