Site Name and Domain Name issue

    My site is called Nerdspin, we’re new and the Rankmath plugin has been working great. But all of our Google results show the site name as “nerdspin.com” not “Nerdspin”. So when you google our name, nothing shows up, but if you google “nerdspin.com” the main Google listing is there.

    How can I change the site name?

    The Page that is our homepage says “Nerdspin”. Our Rankmath dashboard says “Nerdspin”. In Setting/Reader, the home page is directed to a page called “Nerdspin”. And even when you look at the HTML for the page, it says Nerdspin is the site name.

    Please help.

So, even if you have everything set up correctly, Google maybe still use your site URL instead of your site name.

    However, we are aware that adding the WebSite schema to your site increases the chances of Google showing your site name. This schema tells Google more information about your site, such as its name, logo, URL, and so on. But please keep in mind that having the WebSite schema does not guarantee that Google will show your site name. It is just a suggestion that Google may or may not follow.

    Also, Google not showing your Site Name is not the reason your site is not ranking well for the keyword “Nerdspin”. That is a different issue that depends on many other factors, such as your content quality, relevance, authority, backlinks, competition, and so on. You need to work more on optimizing your site for this keyword and make it stand out from other sites. And since your site is new, you might to be patient and give it some time to grow and gain trust from Google.

    A bit unrelated but it seems your sitemap is throwing an XML declaration error.

    This usually happens when there is some extra content or whitespace before the XML declaration in your sitemap file. This can make your sitemap invalid and unreadable by search engines.

    The most common reason for this error is a whitespace in your theme code, such as a blank line or space in your wp-config.php file or your theme’s functions.php file. This can happen when you edit these files manually or use a plugin or theme that modifies them.
