Thank you for contacting Rank Math for help with your keyword not being detected inside shortcodes.
Rank Math cannot read content inside shortcodes. It can only read content that is loaded on the page in the editor, that is why the keywords are not detected. Please try adding the custom field name by going to your WordPress dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Post type (post, page etc) and enter the custom field name so that it is used in the SEO score.

I know you said that shortcodes are not readable in the editor but are you intending supporting this (as Yoast does)?

Does this mean that shortcodes are expanded in ACF so if I add the field then your SEO will see the text the shortcode renders?

Yes, you may need to include the custom fields you have used on the post so Rank Math can analyze them.

However, if you’re using ACF as you mentioned, our plugin does read the content from ACF automatically when you enable the ACF module

Thanks …. but … if it’s a shortcode in the ACF, will Rank Math expand it out to the text and analyse that?

Rank Math can read the text within the ACF field. If you’re using shortcode within the ACF field, Rank Math will not be able read content inside shortcode.
