RankMath with Polylang issues

    Hello
I am using RankMath together with Polylang. The default language is English with French as an alternative. I have noticed two things:
1/ The canonical href is the same for both versions and is the English one. Shouldn’t the french version show : mydomain.fr/fr instead of mydomain.fr ? I do not have that problem with other (ie non Home) pages.
2/ Even though Alt tags are completed both in French and in English (at least for some pictures) here again the English version is attached even for French pages.
Any clues ? Is this a settings problem or a bug somewhere
    Thank you for your help

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

    1. Changing your site language does not affect your canonical URL, rather it affects the language related opengraph, og:locale. You can check the attached screenshots.

    2. I have checked the alt tags in the link you have provided and they seem to be translated. Is this not what you expect? Please let us know so we can help.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Thank you for your feedback Michael
I was able to fix the canonical URL of my French home page thanks to Rankmath “advanced” Tab of the rich snippet editor. So that is fixed -)
As far as alt tags are concerned you are right. They are translated ok. But my question was more about the og:image:alt attribute which seems to use the English version in the French page (see sensitive data section with example)
Am I missing something here ?
Thank you again for your help

    Hi,

    That is the alt text.

If you wish to change that, you will need to add fresh images with proper alt text to the translated page.

    Rank Math cannot automate this.

    Hope that helps.
