  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

For troubleshooting, you can skip the Google connection process in the Setup Wizard.

After completing the setup, head over to your WordPress dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics and reconnect your website to your Google account.

Also, please verify using the URL prefix and ensure that you have verified the correct version of your website on the Google Search Console (HTTP or HTTPS, www or non-www).

    Prefix

You can follow our guide here to create the URL Prefix property:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-verification/#num-1-1-open-google-search-console

The URL-prefix property also helps keep your sitemap in sync with Google Search Console as we submit it automatically for you. In addition, the domain property won’t work correctly on some sections of the Analytics module such as the IndexStatus.

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

Is there anyway I can get or schedule a live chat? I’m really having difficulties setting things up. Rank Math hasn’t created the google data even though I enabled all permissions

    Hello,

Unfortunately, we do not offer support via live chat. We only offer support through our forums.

Try reconnecting your Google account. Remove RankMath’s app from your Google apps permissions: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions

Then, head over to your WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics and reconnect the Google service and this time, ensure that all permissions are checked:

    gsc
    gsc

If the issue persists, please let us know and we will troubleshoot it further for you.

    Thank you.

I’ve followed your link and removed all access and reconnected RankMath. It has all permissions. When I go to RankMath > General Setting > Analytics, the site field says “No results found” and the analytics account field says “No results found”. I’m stuck and don’t know what to do.

    Hello,

Before further troubleshooting, please ensure that you have verified your email/account as the owner of the property. Go to your Google Search Console > Settings > Users and permissions:

If the issue still persists, then we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

That screen doesn’t appear for me. When I go to google search console it shows “Add property” in the top left and in the center of the webpage it says Domain and URL prefix. What do I need to do?

    Hello,

As mentioned by my colleague here, you will need to select the URL prefix. This will help us validate your ownership of the site using our plugin.

Please check out this KB to know more information. This can also guide you through the verification process:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-verification/#num-1-1-open-google-search-console

Please let us know how that goes.

My website is now verified but the analytics field doesn’t populate. I’ve been reading online trying to figure things out some of the instructions seem to be outdated though. Thank you for your patience.

    Hello,

Could you please share your WordPress & FTP logins with us so that we can check the issue further for you? You can follow the steps illustrated in the above reply to share your logins in the sensitive data section.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello again,

Checking through your site analytics, we can confirm that there is no data in the analytics section.

Can you please confirm if there is data in your Google Search Console? Note that Rank Math get its data from the Google Search console and if there is no data that has been passed from the Google search console, Rank Math will not be able to retrieve data to represent on the analytics dashboard page of the plugin.

If however, you have data in your Google Search Console, try and reconnect your Google account by following the steps here. Ensure that all the permissions are checked.

After this, head over to WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools and click the Rebuild Index for Analytics button.

You should start seeing data in your analytics dashboard.

Checking further, your analytics is showing “No result found” which means you cannot choose any Account in the drop-down.

    To resolve this.

Please make sure that you’ve connected the correct Google account and that you are not connecting to Google Search Console via a domain property but rather a URL prefix and that you have verified the correct version of your website on the Google Search Console (HTTP or HTTPS, www or non-www). You should do this at the initial stage when connecting to the Google Search Console as outlined in the steps here.

After that, please try connecting again to Google Analytics. From the Analytics section, select your Account and then select your Universal Analytics or Google Analytics 4 property, from the Property dropdown. You can follow this guide here to connect your analytics.

If you have done this and the settings are not getting saved properly, please try saving the settings for the Analytics with a different browser such as Google Chrome. If you’re already using Chrome, then you can try it in Incognito mode just to save the settings.

Let us know how it goes.

    Looking forward to helping you.

I have followed all the instructions to be the best of my understanding and I still haven’t been able to correct the issues. I’m going to send screenshots and hopefully something can be figured out as far as what’s going wrong.

    Hello,

We’ve checked your website again and it looks like your Google Account is not currently connected with Rank Math:

However, from the screenshots you’ve shared, we can see you don’t have any data in your Google Search Console and that’s why Rank Math was unable to fetch anything in your Analytics Dashboard. Once the data will be generated on your GSC account, Rank Math will automatically fetch them on your site.

Regarding your Google Analytics account, can you please confirm if both of your Google Search Console and Google Analytics accounts are under the same email address? If your Google Analytics account is on another email address then you can follow this URL to transfer the property to the same email address: https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/44500?hl=en

In case, they both are in the same email address then please try to connect your Google Account with Rank Math so that we can check the issue further for you.

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

I can confirm both GSC and analytics are under the same email address. I have reconnected my google account to RankMath. Do I need to create an account in my google analytics or is RankMath supposed to do that?

    Hello,

Rank Math can create a GA4 property for you but it can not create your Analytics Account. We’ve checked your website and looks like you don’t have any Google Analytics account under this email address. In this case, you can try to follow this guideline to create an account: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/9304153?hl=en

Once done, please try to reconnect your Google Account again from WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics with all the required permissions.

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
