Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math support and we apologize for the inconvenience.
The reason why your search console is showing SC-domain: xyz.com instead of http//xyz.com is because you have selected a different type of property in Google Search Console. There are two types of properties that you can create: domain properties and URL prefix properties.
A domain property includes all the subdomains and protocols for your website, such as https://www.xyz.com, http://xyz.com, https://blog.xyz.com, etc. A URL prefix property only includes one specific subdomain and protocol, such as http://xyz.com.
Both types of properties are fine and you can use any of them, but Rank Math works better with the URL prefix properties. This is because Rank Math can fetch more accurate data and analytics from Google Search Console for a specific URL prefix. We usually recommend that you create a URL prefix property instead of a domain property. You can also create both types of properties and connect the URL prefix property to Rank Math for better performance.
To create a URL prefix property, please follow these steps:
- Go to Google Search Console and click on Add Property.
- Select the URL prefix from the drop-down menu and enter your website URL with the protocol (http or https) and the subdomain (www or non-www) that you want to use. For example, https://xyz.com.
- Click on Continue and verify your ownership of the website. You can use any of the methods provided by Google, such as uploading an HTML file, adding a meta tag, using Google Analytics, etc. You can also verify the property with Rank Math: https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-verification/
- Once you have verified your ownership, you will see your new URL prefix property in Google Search Console.
- To connect it to Rank Math, go to Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics in your WordPress dashboard and click on Disconnect Account.
- Then, connect your Google account back and follow the instructions to authorize Rank Math to access your Google account.
- Select your new URL prefix property from the drop-down menu and click on Save Changes.
That’s it! You have successfully created and connected a URL prefix property to Rank Math. You should now see more accurate data and analytics in your Rank Math dashboard.
We hope this clarifies your issue. If you have any other questions or concerns, please let us know. We’re always here to help you.
Thank you for using Rank Math.
