Rank Math changing URL + redirect not working

We have watched your video and we can see that you are trying to redirect /ydelser to /videoproduktion but the slug is changing to videoproduktion-2 automatically. This might be happening because there is another resource that is already using the “videoproduktion” slug, so WordPress is adding a -2 to avoid duplication.

To fix this, you can try this simple solution: Go to Rank Math > General Settings > Redirections and change the Fallback Behavior to Default 404. This will prevent /videoproduktion from redirecting to your homepage and instead show you a 404 error page. On that page, you will see which resource is using the “videoproduktion” slug. Then you can edit that page or post and change its slug to something else.

If this does not solve the issue, then we will need to take a deeper look at your website and settings. To do that, we will need some access details from you. Please follow these steps carefully:

• Go back to the first post on this ticket and click on the Edit button. You will see a Sensitive Data section at the bottom of the post. This is a secure section that only our support staff can access (https://i.rankmath.com/i/nfvfTa)
• Enter your WordPress and FTP login details in that section. Make sure they are correct and working.
• Before you share the information with us, please take a complete backup of your website. This is very important in case something goes wrong.

Upon investigation, this issue leads to an attachment with the same URL that’s why the redirects are not working since the Redirect Attachments option is enabled on your site. You can also test it by disabling that option, and the redirect works fine.

To fix this, please reupload the attachments /videoproduktion with a different file name or at least rename the slug of the attachment. I’ve attached the attachment URL in the sensitive data section as well.
