Hello,
The main language of the site is Bulgarian. English is a second language. I use Polylang plugin for multilingual site. The main pages are made in both languages and everything works fine. The problem comes with the category pages in English. The correct content is not loading. I have posts attached to this category and everyone without uncategorized.
I updated the theme and plugins and cleared the cache at the caching plugin level and on the browsers I use, but the problem persists. There is no cache at the server level.I contacted Polylang support and followed these steps they recommended:
step 1: deactivate all your plugins as well as your mu-plugins,
step 2: activate Twenty Twenty (default WordPress theme) + Polylang Pro
step 3: check that you don’t get your issue anymore
step 4: if step 3 works then activate your theme then redo step 3
step 5: if step 4 works then activate your child theme if any then redo step 3
step 6: if step 5 works then activate your plugins one by one until you reproduce your issue. The result is as follows:
Step 1: I deactivate all my plugins.
Step 2: I activate Twenty Twenty (default WordPress theme) + Polylang and Polylang for WooCommerce (I don’t have Polylang Pro). I have included a WooCommerce plugin because the problem is with the product category pages.
Step 3: The problem pages are loading
Step 4: I activate my theme Divi and redo step 3. The problem category pages are loading
Step 5: I activate my child theme and redo step 3. The problem category pages are loading
Step 6: I activate plugins one by one. Enabling Rank Math SEO reproduced my problem. Removed /category-name element from urls by Rank Math SEO. When /category-name is present in the address everything is fine, but when it’s not, apparently the English versions of the category pages break. To my question “Is there a way to solve this problem without having /category-name element in urls?”, Polylang support replied: “As you detected, the culprit is Rank Math SEO and you should contact their support.”
Is there a way to solve this problem without having /category-name element in urls?
