Possible to include gallery images in post-sitemap.xml?

    We would like to see gallery images that are included in our posts in our post-sitemap.xml.

    To display gallery images we are using the plugin Photo Gallery by 10Web and those images are stored at “/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/photo-gallery”.

    In Rank Math SEO, the “Images in Sitemaps” option is enable at “rank-math-options-sitemap” and the post-sitemap.xml shows all “regular” images but not those associated with galleries.

    Is there are way to include the gallery images in post-sitemap.xml?

    Thank you very much. Just started using Rank Math and love it but would very much like to get this issue resolved.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

    Please note that our plugin doesn’t support adding images directly from custom plugins that create galleries on the website.

    We only support images that are added as part of the content, featured images, product images on WooCommerce product pages, and default WordPress galleries.

    For this to work the plugin developers from that custom plugin you are using would need to add compatibility into their plugin to detect those images, much like Divi and other plugins/themes have done to include images into our sitemap.

    However, Google and search engines will still be able to discover them directly from your content even if they are not added in the sitemap.
