Hello, we apologize for the inconvenience you are facing with the noindex settings in Rank Math. It seems that despite your efforts to change the settings manually and in bulk, the noindex tag is still appearing in the HTML.
To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:
-
Navigate to your WordPress Dashboard and go to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta.
-
Double-check each section to ensure that the settings are as per your preference.
-
If the categories are set as “noindex” and you want them to be indexed, you can change this by selecting the respective “Index” Robots Meta tag.
-
After making the changes, click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.
-
Please note that these changes will only reflect in your upcoming posts, not the existing ones. If you have existing posts set with noindex incorrectly, you can change them to Index using the Metabox or use bulk actions to make changes for a number of posts at once.
If you have already tried these steps and are still experiencing issues, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to resolve this issue for you.

Hi there, we have already followed the instructions given. All that told us was that it was already set to index in Global settings (under titles & meta), and the settings for product_cat (product categories) was set to inherit from global. We even tried to bulk index all categories – but also to no avail. It’s as though Rank Math is ignoring the settings and still applying follow, noindex – but we don’t know where it’s getting that from either.
Hello,
Apologies for the inconvenience.
Could you please share the affected URLs so we can check?
Meanwhile, you mentioned that they are for your product categories.
Rank Math automatically adds the noindex to the robots meta of myaccount
, checkout
, and cart
pages.
If that’s the case, you may have a plugin/theme that is setting your product pages to be in that state which could cause conflict with Rank Math’s meta robots.
To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.
Let us know how this goes.
Thank you.
