noindex on every second Level Page

    Hey,

    I am facing the following problem right now.
    I checked the google Search console what content from my Site is indexing. An realized that all my second level pages have the Tag noIndex on them.

    So the following URL getting crawled by Google an have no “noindex” Tag on it:
    https://ortsentwicklung-flintbek.de/sanierungsrecht/

    But every site thats under it have the noindex tag on it:

    https://ortsentwicklung-flintbek.de/sanierungsrecht/sanierungstraeger/

    Why is this happening? In the Page settings from Rankmath Index is enabled.

    I hope you understand my problem and can help me.

    It is a pretty common mistake to open the page source and search for a noindex tag to see if the page is marked as noindex or not. In your case, you saw the mention of noindex and assumed that the page is set as noindex. The actual noindex tag is added like this:

    <meta robots="noindex">

    But, the one you mentioned in your post refers to the No Index option that Rank Math offers in the admin menu bar.

    It is pretty easy to mistake the two especially if you do not have full knowledge of how the noindex tag works and how it is supposed to look like.

    You can confirm the presence (or absence) of the actual robots noindex tag on this 3rd party website:

    https://smallseotools.com/meta-tags-analyzer/

    So, nothing to worry about if the above website says it is index. Your page is definitely not set to noindex ðŸ™‚

    But if I look in the Google Search Console it says these sites are excluded by the “no-index” Tag.

    Thats a bit strange to me. But looks like I was wrong and this is not caused by Rankmath.

    Maybe Google Search Console found it previously. Right now, when I checked your website, it has no no-index tags so I think in a few days that error should disappear from Google Search Console. If not, just let us know and we will take a deeper look.
