No longer posting to facebook

About two weeks ago, my posts stopped posting to Facebook. I can still configure the text and select an image, but when the post goes live on my website as scheduled, the accompanying post to Facebook does not appear. It was working perfectly before.

I used the debugger and received the message that fb:app_id is missing. I am not a developer. Do I need this? Why would it suddenly be missing?

Any suggests of how to fix this so that my posts get posted to Facebook again?

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Do you mean your posts are not being automatically posted on Facebook? If you mean that, Rank Math doesn’t offer that feature.

If it is not what you mean, could you give us more details about it?

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hi Alberto,

I meant that the short text and single image set through social is no longer posting to Facebook. I can still set it. It was working until a couple of weeks ago.

Does that make sense? Or would it be another plug in that was doing that for me?

    Thank you for your help!

    Hello,

Yes, it makes sense (your issue, I mean, since it is a Rank Math function). Could you share some of the affected URLs in the Sensitive Data section so we can check them?

    Looking forward to help you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have tested the URLs you have shared on Facebook Debugger and they seem to appear fine from my end. Could you please test them and confirm.

Please note that Rank math’s functionality in this is adding the Opengraph meta tags on your page which are used for social sharing. You should check if these are being added by checking your page/post source code.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hi Michael,

I am not sure how to check my “page source code” for the Open Graph Meta. Do you have instructions?

I did find that under RankMath social meta, my facebook URL had a string of numbers after the URL. Would that have made a difference?

    Thank you for your help!

    Hello,

I have checked some of the posts’ source code and they don’t seem to have og tags (OpenGraph tags).

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

Is there an email I can use to create a temporary log-in for you?

    Thank you!

    Hello,

I checked those links now in the official Facebook Tool (https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/) and now everything seems working, could you check?

    Hi Alberto,

I am still getting the exact same message that I was getting before. The only thing it flags is
    fb:app_id

Apparently it should be added. I don’t know what it is or if it is necessary for RankMath or how to get one if it is. Otherwise the response is still “206”, whatever that means.

Do you know much about the fb:app_id? Is it necessary for RankMath?

    Thank you!

    Rachael

    Hello,

You can add the app id in Rank Math as I show you in the following screencast but I don’t think it is necessary (most users don’t use it and everything works fine). https://i.rankmath.com/rLpN2y

I have also recorded this screencast where I check some of your URLs and it seems to show the right images (I think). Are they fine? (I shared the screencast in the Sensitive Data section with the name Screencast 2)

    Looking forward to help you.

    Hi Alberto,

Today’s post did not send the text and image to Facebook either, so it looks like the problem is still there…

    Thanks for your help,

    Rachael

    Hello,

I have attached a screenshot below your shred URL, please check. Everything seems fine from my test.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
