Hi there, I can’t figure out how to simply edit my meta descriptions with your plugin.

I am used to that kind of functionality. When I click on Edit Snippet I am present with a bunch of options, but simply setting my meta description for that page is not one of those options. Any help?

    Thanks
    Ross

Unfortunately this is now what I am seeing. I am asking about the titles and meta for my homepage. My homepage is set to a static page. I want it to show as “South Lake Tahoe Boat Rentals | Battle Born Boat Rentals” but what the serps are returning is “battle born boat rentals : south lake tahoe boat rentals”

The snippet shows as correct but for some reason it’s not showing how I tell it to in the snippet in the serps.

    Hello,

We have checked the meta title and description of your homepage, and they are already appearing fine in the page’s source code.

To ensure that the meta title and description you have set are already applied, you can verify that using these tools:

    https://rankmath.com/tools/meta-tag-analyzer/

Please note that Google sometimes ignores the custom meta info altogether and shows something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better. In this case, the best you can do is optimize your meta title and description to try and match the intent of the search/keyword.

Interesting yes I agree those tools show the meta data the way I intended. I assumed the developer was in complete control of how the meta description showed up in Google. Are you sure I don’t need to submit the page to Google again or something to make it show up the way I want it to? I thoguht I pressed the instant index button in the page editor view but maybe I need to do it again.

    Hello,

No, you don’t need to submit the page again to Google. You can change your description to make it more optimized for the keyword you want it to rank for and wait for Google to crawl it again. If they find the description helpful, they will start to show it in the SERPs.

Please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
