    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that this issue might have caused.

It seems that you are currently using the Rank Math PRO plugin, but the account you have used to open this ticket is a Free account.

Can you please search and forward a receipt from FastSpring.com so we can locate your account and verify it?

On the issue you are experiencing kindly ignore the Bot’s response. Can you share some of the URLs that are missing from your sitemap?

Please note that for a post/page/CPT to be included in the sitemap it must be set to index and the canonical URL must be self-referencing.

We look forward to hearing back from you and helping you resolve this issue.

    Hello,

Please share the email address you used to purchase the PRO plan so we can verify it first.

As for your issue, the issue is indeed because of the incorrect canonical URL. The current URL should match the canonical URL in the page source:

Once you remove the custom canonical, Rank Math will include that URL in the sitemap.

    Looking forward to helping you.

I removed that canonical from that page. We really want the top level pages to rank, guess we would apply that after it indexes. Do you have any advice on canonicals and how to better use them maybe?

Also, our email address that we used to buy rank math pro is our marketing email: m********@r*************** !

    Thanks,

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

Rank Math, by default, automatically adds a self-referencing canonical URL (gray text) to your site if they are set to index. So, you won’t need to fill/add the canonical URL there.

Please note that the canonical box’s purpose would be to inform search engines that it is a duplicate page and should not be indexed.

Here’s a link for more explanation on its usage:

    Hope that helps.

I do not think that helped much, and also was just testing to solve for removing duplication. Any updates on our sitemap and adding those URLs?

    Hello,

To remove potential duplication is to not set anything in the Canonical URL at all. You just need to let Rank Math generate the Canonical URL (self-referencing URL).

We checked the parent/top pages and they are already included in the sitemap and indexed so there’s no need to change both the parent and children if you want them both indexed.

To resolve the issue for the remaining URLs, we’d advise that you don’t set the canonical URLs from the URLs you want to index, and then make sure they aren’t using duplicate content from the rest of the website.

After doing so, you can flush the sitemap cache and then check to see if the URLs have been added to the sitemap. We have shared a screencast of how you can flush the sitemap cache.

    See: https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

You may also exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.
