    Dear Rank Math Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek assistance with a pressing issue I am facing regarding my website’s SEO optimization. Specifically, I have noticed that my website’s description and favicon are not displaying correctly in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERP). After careful investigation, I suspect that this issue may be related to the Rank Math SEO plugin.

I have followed all the recommended settings and best practices for SEO optimization using Rank Math, but unfortunately, the description and favicon are still not showing as expected in the SERP. This issue is concerning because it affects the visibility and credibility of my website in search results.

  • Hello,

Thank you for your query, and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

We checked the URL and we also checked the site’s source code.

Upon checking we were able to see that the og:description is set in the page but when checking using the site: operator the meta description does not show up.

We also checked the URL using our Meta Tag Analyzer and we were able to see that your description is probably too long.

    Consider making it shorter.

Also , kindly check this guide on How to Change Your Website’s Favicon in WordPress: https://rankmath.com/kb/wordpress-favicon/

We hope that helps, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

Thank you for the response but my website has fav icon update also i have following the google guidliness for meta description and this is the first time ever i have face this issue and i think this might be because of rank math.

    Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are experiencing.

Please note that our plugin doesn’t control the favicon, it is usually your theme that is generating the favicon so you need to make sure that your favicon is properly configured. You may check with your theme author for that.

Even so, it is up to Google to decide if they wish to insert the icon on the SERP, it will depend on several factors, and website authority is one of those factors.

As for the issue with your meta description, our plugin has already added the meta description (if you check the page source):

Please note that it is a pretty common thing with Google these days. It happens with 70% of the results that even if everything’s fine, Google decides to show a different meta information for your search keyword or nothing at all, there is nothing you can do as Google sometimes ignores the custom meta info altogether and show something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better.

To understand more about this, please check this article: https://rankmath.com/kb/different-meta-title-and-description/

Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any other questions.
