Multiple title tags - Support

Hi guys,

in the last 10 days, Ahrefs all of the sudden flagged my site for having Multiple Title Tags. Upon inspecting I can indeed see multiple Rank Math generated title tags on the pages.

The website it concerns is https://www.houthandelwoerden.nl

Please let me know how to fix this.

1. Install the Health Check and Troubleshooting plugin by heading over to WordPress Dashboard → Plugins → Add New. Once the installation is complete, click Activate.
1. Enable Troubleshooting Mode by navigating to Tools → Site Health → Troubleshooting and clicking Enable Troubleshooting Mode.
1. Enable Rank Math by navigating to Plugins → Installed Plugins and clicking Enable while troubleshooting under Rank Math SEO and Rank Math SEO PRO.
1. Activate your theme from Appearance → Themes and check if the theme is adding duplicate meta tags. If your theme isn’t responsible, then enable your plugins one by one until you find the plugin causing the issue.

Once you identify the theme or plugin responsible for the duplicate meta tag, uninstall or adjust its settings to ensure it no longer generates a meta tag. If you’re unable to do this, contact their developer for support.

Hello,

We’ve checked your site, and indeed there is a duplicate title tag in the page’s source code.

To determine if the title is generated by one of your plugins or theme, please follow our guide here for troubleshooting:

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

Hi Reinelle,

I’ve followed your guide and Rank Math does seem to be the problem. I am not using a theme (I am using Breakdance which doesn’t use a theme) and while only having the Rank Math plugin enabled and nothing else, I can still see 2 <title> tags being displayed by Rank math.

We’ve checked your website and found that the Advanced Custom Fields PRO plugin you’re using on your website is adding the duplicate meta title on your website. Please check the screencast in the sensitive data section for reference.
