Hello,
I’m sorry to hear about the issues you are facing after migrating from Yoast to Rank Math and experiencing a significant drop in traffic. I understand how frustrating this situation can be.
Migrating from Yoast to Rank Math can sometimes lead to unexpected drops in traffic due to various reasons such as differences in SEO settings, schema markup implementation, and redirections. Additionally, the use of Schema Pro plugin before the migration might have also contributed to the drop in traffic.
When migrating from Yoast to Rank Math, it’s important to note that not all settings, including redirects, schema markup, and certain features, will be ported over automatically. This can impact your search engine rankings and traffic.
To address the drop in traffic and potential issues caused by the migration and previous plugin installations, here are some steps you can take:
-
Check SEO Settings: Ensure that all SEO settings, including meta tags, keywords, and post types, are correctly configured in Rank Math after the migration.
-
Review Schema Markup: Verify if the schema markup implemented by Rank Math aligns with your website’s needs and content structure.
-
Redirections: Check if the redirections set up in Yoast were successfully migrated to Rank Math or if they need to be reconfigured.
-
Content Optimization: Utilize Rank Math’s features like Content AI to optimize your content for better search engine rankings.
-
Monitor Traffic: Keep an eye on your website’s traffic trends post-migration to identify any further issues or improvements.
If you need further assistance or have specific questions about Rank Math settings or the migration process, please feel free to ask. Thank you for reaching out, and we’ll do our best to help you resolve this issue.
Kind regards.

would you please help me?
Hello,
Sorry for the experience you had while using the plugin. I will try my level best to help you get to the bottom of this.
There are a few things you have to keep in mind when using any SEO plugin, not just Rank Math.
1. An SEO plugin alone cannot bring down or bring up the traffic in a day (or even a few days) unless incorrect Meta Tags are used by setting up the plugin improperly. That’s why we have a detailed tutorial on that:
https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-setup/
2. All the SEO plugins add Meta tags for the search engines which can be checked by viewing the source of a page. For instance, here:
view-source:https://rankmath.com/
Other popular plugins generate similar tags:
https://i.rankmath.com/n94KyH
And with the Rank Math plugin, additional tags are added to a page so search engines can understand the content on a website better.
3. Google brings a new algorithmic update several times a month and the chances are great that your website got hit by that.
We have a full guide on that: https://rankmath.com/blog/google-algorithm-update-recovery/
And if you are using Rank Math PRO, you can even see if the drop in traffic co-relates to an algorithm update. Here’s how:

FINAL STATEMENT
– If your website is doing good on SERP, Rank Math is your best bet to improve the rankings further.
– If your website is not doing good on search engines, Rank Math is the best option to move into.
– We are pretty open in communication and how we are dealing with things. One can check here:

Hope that helps and let me know if you need my assistance with anything at all.
Dear Jaideep,
Thanks for your comprehensive solutions.
I have checked all of these solutions. My only doubt is on the type of content (Schema). The Yoast plugin had defined the type of posts as “blog post”, but rank_math recognized them as articles. Can this be a problem?

Hello,
The BlogPosting Schema is a type of Article under the Schema.org hierarchy and should not cause an issue.
We checked the URL you shared and saw that the BlogPosting Schema is generated in Schema Markup Validator while it is nested within the Article Schema in Google Rich Result.
We suggest you check your Google Search Console, coverage section to determine any issues reported on your site: https://support.artlogic.net/hc/en-gb/articles/360016851260-Google-Search-Console-errors-and-coverage-issues
If there are any issues, then please share those with us here, and we’ll be assisting you with our best effort. You can also use a tool like Imgur to share screenshots of those errors with us.
We hope this helps.
Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you
