Meta description troubleshooting

    For “pages”, we’re using %seo_description% to automatically generate a meta description.

    Instead of pulling content in from the page, it’s pulling in things like “JTNDZGl2JTIwY2xhc3MlM0QlMjJjaXJjbGVfc2VwYXJhdG9yJTIyJTNFJTNDc3BhbiUyMGNsYXNzJTNEJTIyY2lyY2xlMSUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRnNwYW4lM0UlM0NzcGFuJTIwY2xhc3MlM0QlMjJjaXJjbGUyJTIy” instead.

    Any ideas why this would be happening? We’re using the exact same settings for “posts” so I’m not sure why it’s not working for “pages”.

    This is what we’re using “%seo_description%” and it seems to be working for all of our posts, so I’m not sure why it wouldn’t work for pages.

    Would you please share with us a URL of your page so we can check on our end.

    Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

    Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

    Hi Austin,

    I see a Services meta description get populated when you don’t manually write the meta description.

    This could be because in your page builder the very first paragraph says services (in the page’s source).

    It is always good to add a manual meta description in such cases.
