Looking for help with 2 issues before purchasing

    Hello, we’re currently testing the free version of rankmath in the hopes of replacing our current SEO plugin and there were two pieces of functionality that we were looking for that I couldn’t seem to figure out if rankmath could do or not.
    The first was the ability to change the text of various settings in the sidebar, which we were wondering if there was a hook or language file that we could use to do so without the need to use jquery for example to change the wording.
    The second was the authors sitemap which I couldn’t seem to locate. In our sitemap index, I can see post-sitemap, page-sitemap, chapter-sitemap, category-sitemap, but I can’t seem to see one for authors despite toggling on the setting for authors to be included in the sitemap. Is there a setting that I’m missing to enable this?

    Hello,

    We have a ready fix, but we would like you to first try it on your staging website before it’s released.

    To do this, replace the contents of seo-by-rank-math/includes/modules/sitemap/providers/class-author.php with the ones from https://gist.github.com/Nickbahson/2adf9828583161bc175d0e9994f2d905,
    clear cache and try the sitemap.

    We are really looking forward to including this fix in the next release.

    Hello,
    We tried testing this new code and we cleared our cache as instructed earlier in this thread, but it doesn’t seem to have fixed the issue as we’re still missing the authors sitemap.

    Hello,

    Could you please make this change on the staging site and install File Manage plugin, on the staging site (not to be used to edit files, but to verify the contents of some files).

    Then we will take another look, seems like I might have missed something(s).

    Hi,
    I mentioned this earlier but I believe the wp filemanager plugin won’t work due to the limitations on the file system access in WPVIP: https://docs.wpvip.com/technical-references/plugin-incompatibilities/ . Does the access to the github repo we gave not suffice anymore?

    Hi,

    When we tested with the github repo and the database provided; and found the reason that the author’s sitemap was not showing was because of fatal error caused by memory limit, and added a fix to this, which we verified to now work.

    Normally this should have worked on your staging site as well (after you edited the file with the contents from the gist we shared), but it did not work, which means there’s something else I missed.

    Could you please reach out to WPVIP and ask them of what troubleshooting options they offer for their clients.
