Indexation of my old site

    Hello,

    I recently change of domain name : schemafinance.fr (old domain) to finemy.co (new domain).
    I don’t understand why, when I search “finemy” on google, i can still see my old website display, on the seconde or third link. Why ? My home page on wordpress is well set on “finemy.co”, my domain schemafinance.fr is killed, as well as the page, and yet, it the page schemafinance.fr appear… even the payment page… Yet, all pages with the domain name “schemafinance.fr/balbala” doesnt exist anymore on my worpdress account.

    This problem usually solves itself, as over time if Google is unable to reach your old site it’ll eventually remove it from its index. However, we have some tips for you to speed up the process of removing it from Google’s index.

    First, you can use the Google Change of Address tool to tell Google that you have moved your site from one domain to another. This will help Google update its index and transfer your site’s signals to the new domain.     Second, make sure you have submitted the sitemap of your new domain to Google. This will help Google discover and crawl your new pages faster. You can do this by going to Search Console > Sitemaps and entering your sitemap URL.

    Third, be patient. It can take some time for Google to stop showing your old domain, especially if it has many pages. Google will have to try to crawl every page of your old domain and see that it no longer exists before removing it from its index.
