My images in my search console are among “crawled but not indexed”. Is it right or have I to correct something in rank math settings?

P.s.: image have no description, no text…perhaps have not to be page.

  • Hello,

Thank you for reaching out about the issue with your images being categorized as “crawled but not indexed” in your search console. This status indicates that Google has crawled your images but has not indexed them yet. It’s not necessarily an error but a normal part of the indexing process.

To address this, you can consider the following steps:

    1. Add Descriptions and Alt Text: Ensure that your images have descriptive filenames, alt text, and relevant context on the page where they are used. This helps search engines understand the content of the images.

    2. Check Indexing Settings: Verify that your images are set to be indexable in Rank Math settings. You can review the indexing settings for images within Rank Math SEO to ensure they are allowed to be indexed by search engines.

    3. Quality Content: Make sure the pages where the images are located have quality content surrounding them. Google considers factors like relevance and context when indexing images.

If after checking these aspects, your images are still not indexed, it might be due to other reasons beyond Rank Math settings. You can continue monitoring the situation in Google Search Console and make necessary adjustments based on the feedback provided.

If you need further assistance or have any other questions, please feel free to reply here, and we’ll be happy to help.

    Thank you!

    My question is:
Google consider it as page but they have no text. Seems strange to me. Is it right?

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

The images are only supposed to be indexed in Image Search, and they shouldn’t be submitted to the GSC account as in GSC, the indexing report is for HTML pages, not for the images.

However, even though Google has discovered your image files and crawled them, they are not supposed to be indexed in the normal search results, and that’s why they are in the Crawled – Currently not Indexed status.

You can ignore the status, as the images shouldn’t be indexed in the normal search results.

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.
