Hello,
We logged in to your site using the provided access details in the sensitive data section of this ticket.
Upon checking we could see that the “Relapse Behaviour” for your site is “Redirect to Homepage”.
Had the the “Relapse Behaviour” been set to “Default 404”, you would have seen a 404 page error on the xml page sitemap url at https://www.stainlesssieraden.com/page-sitemap.xml
Regarding the The page sitemap url returning to homepage, it is because all the pages on your site are set as noindex.
This error only occurs if it does not contain any links inside it the sitemap.
This happens if any of the below condition is true for all the urls that are supposed to be there:
1. There are no page URLs that have been added yet that should be there.
2. The page URLs are added but set as no index.
3. The page URLs are there and marked as index but you have set different cannonical urls for them.
4. If the page URLs are excuded by ID in Rank Math settings.
The above causes the sitemap to redirect to a 404 error page however it it redirects to homepage because of the default Fallback Behaviour.
In your case the second reason and the fourth reason is the cause for this as you have excluded the pages by ID as well.
We changed the fallback behaviour temporarily and we can see the page sitemap load as expected with no results found error.
We also changed the About Us page as index and also removed the page id from exclusion, then we could see the about us page in the page sitemap.
We hope that helps, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
Thank you for your help.
I have the next error now :
I hope to hear soon from you.
Kind Regards
Hello,
We’ve checked your site again and we can see all the pages are set to noindex except your homepage and shop page. But these two pages have custom canonical:
Please note that we don’t add posts/pages with custom canonical on the sitemap because usually when people do that is to prevent duplicate content so we remove the pages with the custom canonical. In this case, there is nothing to add on your page sitemap and that’s why it is not working.
You can follow this URL for more details: https://rankmath.com/kb/url-not-in-sitemap/#custom-canonical-url
If you want to add these two pages to your sitemap then you can remove the custom canonical from Rank Math SEO meta box Advance tab and let Rank Math generate the self-referencing canonical, and after that, they will show on the sitemap.
Once done, please clear your sitemap and website cache and resubmit your sitemap at Google Search Console.
Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Thank you for your help.
It is solved.
