This is intended since the category pages are not meant for full content, the tests are limited since you don’t want to compose dedicated article content on these types of pages.
Unlike posts/pages/products, it’s not possible to optimize the category or product category archives much. Also, you can only edit the title and the meta description, and insert 1 focus keyword since it doesn’t make much sense to optimize such a short piece of content.
