Hello, I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re facing with the featured image URLs showing up in the Google search console. To prevent these URLs from being crawled by Google, you can use the “noindex” tag for these images.
One way to do this is by raising a removal request in Google Search Console. Here’s how you can do it:
- Open Google Search Console and log in to your account.
- Navigate to the “Removals” section from the left sidebar.
- Click on “New Request” on the Removals page.
By following these steps, you can request Google to remove the featured image URLs from being indexed.

I’ve done that in the past but when I post new content or new blog posts, these featured images URL will show again in the future… How do I stop these URLs from being crawled by Google completely
Hello,
Thank you for your patience.
You should use the URL inspection tool of your GSC account to check the URLs and check the referring page where are they coming from.
Once you know their referring page, you can them so Google won’t discover those kinds of URLs.
Hope that helps.
