From the screenshots you shared, we noticed that you’re trying to insert the code in your function.php file. That’s not the right place to put it. You should add the code in the template file where you want your breadcrumbs to show up, not in the functions.php file.
There are different ways you can add the code for breadcrumbs, depending on what you prefer and how comfortable you are with coding.
- You can use a PHP function in your template file
- The Rank Math
[rank_math_breadcrumb] shortcode
- or an Elementor widget, if you’re using Elementor
If you want to use the PHP function, you have to find the right template file to add it. This may vary depending on the theme you’re using. In most themes, it would be either the single.php file or the header.php file. But if you’re not sure, you can ask your theme developer for help.
