Hi Support.
I recently migrated a client’s site over from Yoast to Rank Math. For whatever reason, his Home Page is not available to Google now which means his ranking has completely disappeared for his local area.
Google states that indexing of his Home Page isn’t allowed because ‘noindex’ is detected in ‘robots’ meta tag.
Here’s what I’ve done so far to try to rectify the issue:
1. The robots.txt file has been validated by his hosting company as showing ‘index’.
2. I’ve removed his sitemap from being cached by WP Rocket.
3. Server-side cache has been cleared.
4. The meta tag is showing ‘index’ when viewing Page Source.
5. All settings have been verified as ‘include in sitemap’ under Sitemap Settings.
6. Homepage is visible to search engine (discourage search engines for indexing this site is ‘unchecked’)
7. Index is selected under the Advanced tab under Rank Math SEO for the individual page.
8. I deleted the sitemap.xml file out of Google Search Console and resubmitted it (oddly, the home page wasn’t showing in the original Rank Math generated sitemap).
Outside of switching back to Yoast, I’m at a loss of what to do.
Here is what I see after running a Live Test on his Homepage:
Thank you for your help!
Patrick
