Hello, I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with your sitemap. It seems like Google is encountering a “noindex” directive in the HTTP header X-Robots-Tag for the sitemap URL you mentioned.
To resolve this issue, you can follow these steps:
-
Check Whether URLs Have Been Marked as ‘Noindex’: First, open the page source of the URL that has been classified by this error and check whether the page’s header includes the “noindex” robots meta tag.
-
Page URL Set to NoIndex Correctly: If your page URL is set to noindex correctly, but you’re still seeing this error, then it is likely Google hasn’t crawled your page/sitemap since the changes were made.
-
Check if Sitemap is Accessible: You should check if Google is able to access your website’s sitemap using a tool like httpstatus.io. If your sitemap returns a 404 error, you can refer to our tutorial to fix this.
If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to ask.

hello on the articles the sitemaps are well referenced but the sitemaps generated by the event plugins such as the events calendar and or event on the sitemaps generate a no index; how to correct once again on the articles no problem
Hello,
That is normal as you should not inspect the sitemap URLs (/sitemap_index.xml or /sitemap.xml) as those are only used for crawling.
Please note that by default, sitemaps are set to noindex as the posts inside them are meant to be crawled and the sitemap itself should not be displayed on search results pages.
Looking forward to helping you.
sorry but if the sitemap is not indexed by searching in Google for example the events do not appear in the results so why a blockage with no index?
Hello,
We understand your concern, but please note that even if you set a page to “noindex,” Google can still crawl it. Sitemaps are meant to be crawled, not displayed on search results pages. If you set sitemaps to index, they will appear on SERPs, which you won’t want because sitemaps don’t have any content to show your visitors. That’s why Rank Math sets the sitemap to “noindex” by default.
You should only submit your sitemap to the sitemap section of your GSC account and shouldn’t use the URL inspection tool for the sitemap URLs.
