Hi team,
I’ve been going through different resources (YouTube & articles) to set up Google Search Console & GA4 through Rank Math; however, I’m unable to do so.
I connected my Google account with Rank Math and allowed all the permissions.
As per the YT tutorial, I should get the details of my GSC automatically but nothing appears.
Am I missing some steps?
Also, one of the Rank Math tutorials says Rank Math does not support GA4 and asks to create a Universal Analytics property. I’m getting confused with it. Now that Google has discontinued UA, should we still create UA property for Rank Math? Or is it an outdated tutorial?
Kindly help. Thanks in advance!

- Find Rank Math in the list of apps and click on it.
- Click on Remove access and confirm your action.

Thank you for choosing Rank Math!
Hello Great,
Thank you for your response. Here are my concerns:
1. I checked my Rank Math plugin. It does have the latest version – Version 1.0.118. Also, it is set in auto-updates mode. So, there was nothing wrong with it. But still, I followed the other steps you suggested (removing access & granting access again and all that). And the issue is still as it was.
2. I request you to address my another query that was included in the original ticket:
“one of the Rank Math tutorials says Rank Math does not support GA4 and asks to create a Universal Analytics property. Iām getting confused with it. Now that Google has discontinued UA, should we still create UA property for Rank Math? Or is it an outdated tutorial?”
Kindly help with both of these concerns.
Thank you!
GautamHello,
Thank you for getting back to us. Apologies for missing your other question earlier.
1. Can you please confirm if you have verified Google Search Console and Google Analytics properties on the Google account you connected? Please double-check that the Google account you connected has a functional Google Search Console and Google Analytics property. If you do not have a Google Search Console property, you can create one by following this guide. You can also sign up for Google Analytics here.
2. This would be an outdated guide, can you share the link with us here? Rank Math fully supports Google Analytics 4. You can learn more about how Rank Math integrates with Google Analytics 4 here: https://rankmath.com/blog/google-analytics-4-integration/. You can also follow this guide to set up Google Analytics 4 with Rank Math: https://rankmath.com/kb/using-ga4/. Please note that you need to have a Google Analytics account before Rank Math can create a Google Analytics 4 property for you.
We hope this helps clarify the issue, please do not hesitate to reach out again if you need help with anything else.
Thank you for choosing Rank Math!
Thank you so much for addressing all my queries in detail! You’re truly Great! š
Sorry, I understood what I was doing wrong. I didn’t create GSC & GA4 properties as I thought Rank Math would do it for me. My bad. Now, I’ve created GSC & GA4 properties and it’s showing in the Rank Math analytics setting. So, all of those things are now sorted! Thanks a ton, Great!
(Since you asked about the tutorial link, I was referring to this YT video: https://youtu.be/49gYr5tUy0I. It’s 2 years old, so it’s understandable.)
Now, one last query – I’m so sorry.
I want to configure GTM (Google Tag Manager) as well. Does Rank Math also have any settings to configure GTM?
You can share the resource link if you have any YouTube tutorial or blog article. I’ll refer to it.
I did find one but I just want to make sure I follow the right one: https://rankmath.com/blog/install-google-tag-manager.
I appreciate your guidance on this.
Thanks a lot!
GautamHello,
Thank you for getting back to us. We are glad to have been of help and we appreciate your kind words.
Yes, you can install your Google Analytics code via Google Tag Manager. This would not affect any of Rank Math functionality, including our Analytics feature – that is because we fetch all the data we show to you via Google API. So as long as your Google Analytics is fetching data from your website – regardless of the method, we will fetch the data from Google.
Just make sure you have disabled the “Install Analytics Code” option in Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics, as you don’t want to install the analytics code twice.
Also, yes, https://rankmath.com/blog/install-google-tag-manager/ is the right Rank Math resource for installing Google Tag Manager.
Did I miss any other questions? Please let me know. And please, don’t hesitate to reach out again or ask any further questions – we are here to help you.
