Google index issue – Massive (100+) Duplicate without user-selected canonical

    Hi,

We have a massive google index issue. More than half of our pages (100+) are not indexed due to the “Duplicate without user-selected canonical”.

When we inspect the specific URL, we see that the Google-selected canonical is a completly random website. We have never seen or owned theses sites before. [moved to sensitive data section]

We have used Rankmath to set up the site following every instruction. And we have also submiteed the site map via Google search console. This issue seems really strange because how comes Goolge thinks a compeltely different url is related to our website??

Could you help us to trouble shoot this issue and share your professional instruction to solve this?

Below you can find our screenshots to show the issue at Search Console:

    Many thanks,
    Siemon

  • Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

We checked the affected page and it seems the canonical URL is correct as you can see in my screenshot below:

This applies to the rest of the URLs from your report.

I also notice that the report is almost a month old so please clear your website caches and allow Google to crawl your website again.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.
