    Hello, I recently registered for a Google Business Profile for my new business. I think this may have been a mistake because my business is 100% online without a local presence. My profile has been suspended by Google because I cannot verify a physical address. I am worried that this situation will hurt the Google rankings for my website? What should I do at this point? Should I remove my Business Profile? Will that remove my website from Google search altogether? I do not want to apply for reinstatement. If Google shuts down this Business Profile account, how will that affect the ranking of my website?

    Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for contacting the support regarding effect on Google ranking.

    Google SERP basically counts the organic search your website has, while, GMB is for local search. In simple words, due to suspension of GMB, you will not get the ability to modify / edit / add any information through Google Business and your business won’t be seen in Google maps. As you’re mostly into online business, I wouldn’t worry about maps. Search Ranking and GMB are unrelated to each other.

    If you don’t want to reinstate your profile, you can still improve your website’s ranking by implementing SEO best practices such as optimizing your website for relevant keywords and building high-quality backlinks.
